Perhaps mention that they

Perhaps mention that they call it "digital cable" and the first 100 channels are analog and will stay analog even after 2/17/09. What is meant by an "advanced fiber network" anyway? Do they have battery back-up for the phone? How about HSIA is shared by the neighborhood........not all channels on all TV's.........shall we go on?

Has Time Warner managed to

Has Time Warner managed to reduce the amount of "Channel Not Available" messages when trying to access their Switched digital channels? I'm tempted to move back because the basic service is included with my apartment so I'd only need to pay for a box. For me at least, if I can't access the channels when I want to, the service isn't worth paying for so that's why I'm curious. So has it gotten better, or just worse with these latest channels? Thanks.

Navigator was installed

Navigator was installed today. I didn't ask for it but I got it and I HATE IT. So, I have two options...In fact you all have the same options:
Sign up with Direct or Dish TV and you're guaranteed not to have to learn a brand new program every other month that messes up all of your connections no matter what they tell you. OR another choice is downgrade your current programming choice. When I turn in my box into my local Saco, Maine office, I'll have maybe 20 total stations, no more digital, no more pay per view since you will no longer have a cable box that needs replacing periodically becaused it breaks down continuously. In fact my box is broken as I write this and it's only 7 month old and the box is only about 4 months old !!!! They should fix the basics before they initiate new programming. It's a pain. They have been announcing this "Navigator" as the best thing since mom's apple pie. It's more like "mud pie". So like the comment made above my comment, "Time Warner is Horrible......avoid it at all cost unless U enjoy pulling your hair completely out trying to figure out this horrible mess called "The Navigator" in my opinion. Thank you for listening to me. This is my opinion to this horror and I'm sure there will be many more that will hate this "change" as much as I do.

Has DISH or DirecTV ever

Has DISH or DirecTV ever changed software? I find it unlikely that they haven't in past -- or won't in future -- change their software. Jumping services doesn't 100% guarantee you'll be problem free. I know people who absolutely loathe DISH Network because their service goes out frequently half the year where they live, so it's a pretty big blanket statement to say one provider's better than another. It varies person to person and situation by situation. I, for one, have gotten used to Navigator and like certain new aspects of it compared to the old system. I may be more adaptable to technology than most, however.

That said, it's not that Time Warner decided to go to Navigator for the heck of it. The change, as I understand it, was the first step towards bringing forth advanced features down the road. Not everyone's going to like change, obviously, and switching providers is certainly an option. I, for one, would change to satellite or AT&T as a last resort because I find their service and terms very restrictive, and not worth whatever amount of temporary price break. If you find Navigator too difficult to use, by all means switch.
