After nearly a month of quiet negotiations after their original contract expired, Time Warner Cable and program provider Scripps Interactive announced a multi-year extension yesterday, according to Multichannel News.

Better late than never?

Charter Communications, which services some outlying areas in Northeast Wisconsin, will add four HD channels to its lineup today, according to The Capital Times.  The new channels include Food Network (630), HGTV (629), MLB Network (666) and USA Network (628).

"Charter has made a significant investment in our technology and is committed to bringing our Wisconsin customers popular high-definition channels like these we are adding August 5th," Lisa Washa, vice president and general manager for Charter, said in a statement. "We are pleased to be growing our high-definition on demand library for customers, giving them a great viewing experience and great value."
