
Time Warner Cable rolling out remote DVR services, local ETA unknown
Time Warner Cable is finally playing catch-up to other providers who already offer remote DVR scheduling, but when Northeast Wisconsin can expect to see the functionality is still unknown.
On their blog, the cable operator announced the rollout of the long-teased remove DVR services, and gave an advanced glimpse into how the service will work. But unfortunately for customers in the Green Bay / Appleton footprint, no estimated date was given for a rollout in our area.

Time Warner Cable taking over Oconto cable service from Charter
Next month, residents in the city and town of Oconto will be writing out checks for their cable service to a new provider.
Time Warner Cable has purchased cable systems in Oconto from Charter Communications, and plans to begin offering their full suite of cable, phone and Internet services by mid-July.

Time Warner quietly unveils two more high-def HBO channels
As has been the case with many recent HD additions, Time Warner Cable quietly added a pair of new HBO channels for HD-ready premium subscribers.
HBO Signature HD and HBO Comedy HD joined the lineup today on channels 1605 and 1607, respectively. The cable operator now offers five HBO channels in high-definition.

Is Time Warner adding local broadcast channels to Start Over?
Time Warner's "Start Over" feature now appears to be available on NBC 26 HD.
We're not sure how long this has been available, but we first noticed a "Start Over" popup last night after watching "Parenthood" on channel 1007. This appeared on both our Time Warner DVRs both last night, and again this morning during NBC's "Early Show."
It does not appear that the "Start Over" feature has been enabled on other local broadcast channels, at least in the HD channel space.

Time Warner beginning to roll out new Samsung set-tops, DVRs
New Samsung-branded hardware will soon be arriving at Time Warner Cable's Northeast Wisconsin division, including new receivers and DVRs.
While these have already arrived in some markets across the country, including Milwaukee, Northeast Wisconsin is just starting to see new hardware show up here. These new boxes include Samsung's SMT-H3090 and SMT-H3270 model HD-DVRs, and the SMT-H3260 digital receiver.
