This is actually the third antenna I have tried at my apartment. My first one, just a standard UHF yagi, didn't do squat for me for some reason, on any channel. I then bought another UHF antenna, the Phillips SDV2940. I'd equate it best to looking like a plastic fin. This antenna did a reasonable job picking up everybody. Even picked up FOX 11 (being VHF) at the same levels as everyone else. I had to use the amplifier included for the antenna to work at all. My best reception with it was to actually aim it at the building straight across from me, picking up the signals bouncing down between the buildings. This was fine for a while, but in the last few weeks the breakups were getting worse. Trying to watch an episode of Community on NBC recorded on the Tivo was the tipping point. It was breaking up every 10 seconds or so and we couldn't watch it. I saw Fleet Farm had the RCA ANT751 antenna on sale so I thought I'd give it a try. I mounted it on the pole for the deck above us and aimed it directly at the broadcast towers (more specifically at the FOX 11 tower). That's where these readings were coming from. The antenna is aimed directly at a brick wall and it's still getting the signals great. I'm very happy with these signal levels. I've been purposely watching OTA as much as possible and I've seen no breakups so far. And for the size of it (less than the 1 meter), I don't think I can get much better. I did try using the amplifier from the old antenna, but it actually made reception worse, probably overdriving the signals, or just introducing more noise into the signal. Either way, I didn't need it and left it out. I'd have no problem suggesting this antenna to someone who was having trouble with reception with their rabbit ears and wanted to try a small outdoor antenna. Also, it was very nice that it came with a mount and Balun included in the box so I didn't need to buy anything else.
