Hi everyone: I am currently having probs with the static of my dvd player. Since I put in my digital converter box, I have been having wicked volume static when I play my dvds..It really gets bad when the screen has alot of red color and stuff. I have tried monkeying around with the colors,volume and such and nothing seems to work. I even unplugged my converter box and undid the antenna. No such luck. My dvd player is magnovox and my dig. converter box is magnovox. Can you please help me?

Can you provide some more information on how you are connecting everything to your TV?
For example, are you connecting each directly to your TV or are you using any switches, RF modulator boxes, etc?

If you can find a way to hook your DVD player directly to your television you shouldn't see any issues running the DVD player next to the box. If you are trying to run any one box through the other, you could see your static issues.
I am using extension cords
I am using extension cords for the outlets for the dvd player, stereo, vcr, tv and moderator box. (I have an old fashioned tv according to the techs, so I have to use a rf moderator).
I wouldn't really know how to hook the dvd player directly to the tv? (well I would but I don't think it would be possible).
Keep the help and suggestions coming...Still I am getting static by switching things around and unplugging items.
Aside from the electrical
Aside from the electrical connections, can you describe how the audio and video connections are set up between your DVD player and your tv. For example, what color connectors are you using from your DVD player to the next device? Do the cables go to the VCR or the Converter box first? Do the DVD player cables go directly to the RF Modulator?
As a test, connect the red, white, and yellow cables coming from the OUT jack of your DVD player to the IN jack of your RF modulator. Then use the old style coaxial cable running from the OUT of your RF modulator to your older television set. If your modulator has a channel selector on it, be sure the 3/4 channel matches the channel on your screen. Let us know if this hookup produces the same results.
