Time Warner Cable quietly slipped a trio of new HD channels into their lineup today, lighting up Hallmark HD (channel 1113), Fox Soccer HD (1318) and Showtime Shocase HD (1644).
This brings the cable carrier's Northeast Wisconsin HD roster up to 87 channels, by our unofficial count.
Similarly without fanfare, Time Warner started rolling out its Start Over functionality to a handful of high-definition channels. By reader report, Start Over HD has been enabled on Food Network, FX, National Geographic, TBS, TNT, and USA. However as of 9:00 PM this evening, we have not yet seen Start Over show on TBS, TNT or USA.

I noticed the Start Over
I noticed the Start Over feature last night on NatGeo. While I think having it finally on HD greatly adds to its usability, the fact that you cannot fast forward anything is a huge negative. I tested it last night and found that neither commercials nor the main show itself could be fast forwarded. I'd imagine this is a limitation of both the technology and content providers to force commercials, but it's a dealbreaker to me. I'd rather catch the show at a later hour and set it to record, or download it from a torrent.
My bet is the
My bet is the forward-disabling is all at the behest of the content providers. You can rewind, there's gotta be the ability for forwarding. This has the fingerprints of content providers all over it.
That said, I think the convenience of the feature is worth the inconvenience of forward-disabling. Very glad they're starting to enable it on HD channels.
I agree with your method.
I agree with your method. Record it and replay what you missed or fast-forward thru the commercials. Unless it's really something I want to start over, with this set-up, I won't use it.
Is it just me, or does it
Is it just me, or does it seem that there is very little to nothing on this Channel that it aired in HD ? I saw one today that was dated 2010, and no HD.
