While Time Warner Cable plans to add a few new premium HD channels soon, they are also moving one channel from standard cable to digital in March.
According to the legal notifications page on their website, Time Warner is looking to add Showtime's Showcase channel in HD, as well as HBO's Signature HD and Comedy HD channels. No date is given for the planned additions. This follows the notification that Time Warner would soon also be adding Viacom's slate of high-definition networks including Comedy Central and MTV.
As of March 16th, Style will move out of channel 59 on the standard cable tier into the digital variety package. No reason is given for the change. On March 31st, Movies On Demand Classics will be renamed "Favorites," and the Action, Comedy and Drama movies-on-demand channels will be discontinued.
Also of note in their most recent legal notification is a hint that contract negotiations with WBAY are on the horizon, and their three digital channels all have the potential of being affected. No word on whether there is a real danger of losing WBAY on Time Warner, as was the case in December 2008 between WBAY and DISH Network.

Will these HBO and SHO HD
Will these HBO and SHO HD channels automatically become part of the premium channels if we're already paying for HBO and SHO HD Channels ? Or, will they bear an extra charge ?
They should be part of your
They should be part of your existing HBO or Showtime subscription. We had HBO, until recently, and got HBO2 and HBO Family HD as part of our HBO subscription.
If they're added, I sure hope

What has been added and what is the channel number ?
I still don't get this free
I still don't get this free HD. One way or another you pay for it. It's just not a separate charge like some providers. Is anything really free? I just go by total price for what I want when comparing providers.
I agree that the tagline
I agree that the tagline "Home of Free HD" is a bit of an oversimplification of what they're actually trying to point out, that they don't charge an HD access fee like AT&T or satellite providers do. People assume they mean you get all the HD channels for free, which you don't. You just get the HD versions of channels you already subscribe to.
That's not really true
That's not really true either. Without paying to rent a cable box, the only HD you can get is the sam
e HD channels you can get using an antenna for free. Without paying to rent a cable box, you can still get a lot of TWC SD channels without their HD counterparts.
Splitting hairs, yes. But to
Splitting hairs, yes. But to be fair, you can't get channels at all on other providers without a receiver either. You're never going to get more than the local HD channels free and clear on cable without a receiver because A) the programming providers wouldn't allow it, and B) they'd only be able to offer a handful of those HD channels free and clear without switched digital video because they can only fit so much through that cable line.
