
This has been long talked about, but Microsoft announced at their keynote from the Consumer Electronics Show that AT&T U-Verse customers will soon be able to use their Xbox 360 or Windows Media Center PCs as a set-top box.
This is according to a blog on Engadget today.
There is no specific date for this, but the story says it will come "later this year." AT&T U-Verse is the only IPTV provider in the U.S. so far that uses Microsoft's Mediaroom platform. Mediaroom was also demoed to work on mobile phones, but it is not known whether U-Verse would come to your phone as well.

Alright, this is pretty
Alright, this is pretty awesome. I do not have U-Verse, but I plan on switching once the service matures a bit and my TWC 2 year price lock contract is up. Not having to pay for addtional U-Verse boxes would be huge!
