DISH Network customers will see a change in how they are billed for equipment in February, but whether that means a price increase seems to be largely on a case-by-case basis.
According to the Satellite Dish blog on Multichannel News, DISH Network will charge "$17 a month for a Duo DVR receiver, $14 a month for Duo receivers and Solo class receivers will be $7." This appears to be the pricing for additional units after the first unit on the account.
While this may seem like an increase, it really amounts to a restructuring of fees. They are reportedly going to a single DVR charge for all the DVRs in a home, and other fees are either being eliminated or rolled into the aforementioned per-unit charge.

DishNet equipment pricing has become horrible. What a ripoff. Even if you spend $300+ to buy your own HD DVR, you are forced to pay $17/month. If you lease from DN, you still pay the same. That's crazy. Have you ever heard of buying your own car and still be forced to make lease payments?
DN - get real. Be reasonable ....
