Time Warner Cable has opened a big basket of new HD channels to Northeast Wisconsin this morning. By our count, today's addition totals 14 new high-definition channels added to their recently-growing roster. Customers who subscribe to Digital Variety, Digital Movie or Digital Sports packages seem to be benefiting most from the latest round of additions, though.

We had received anonymous reports last night saying 16 channels would be added today, with the others being Team HD and Game HD. We did not find the latter channels on our program guide this morning, however.
NHL Network HD does not appear to be open to all customers as part of this week's free preview.
In the past month, Time Warner Cable has added a total of 21 new HD channels to its lineup, and more are reportedly on the way.

Should mention, though... I'm only on digital access and We HD was blocked but NBA HD was open. Might be a boo-boo on their end.
Wow, pretty robust addition!
Wow, pretty robust addition! It's disappointing to have only 5 on the digital access tier however. How much is digital variety a month upgrade? It might be worth the $5 or so I think it is for the added HD channels now. It was a waste on the SD channels as I never watched them.
Again, CHARTER 0! Anyone
Again, CHARTER 0! Anyone have an offical count of HD channels for Time Warner? I am stuck with Charter and have no option for satilight b/c of the direction my apartment faces. Right now I have 24 (including local otherwise it would be worse) channels. That does not include premium channels like HBO. I understand Charter is bankrupt but they have more efforts in other parts of the country in adding more HD channels. Its pathetic how little they offer. I also read that they are not adding anymore channels this year. But they continue to say that adding HD channels is a priority.
Weather Channel HD certainly
Weather Channel HD certainly has been less than I expected. That damned left-side verical bar uses about 25% of the screen, showing the weather in various cities. The only time I saw full HD was about 30 seconds prior to and aftera full HD commercial. Then right back to that annoying left 1/4 of the screen. They could provide the same info with a screen bottom banner and still give a full HD picture. I may as well keep watching
Ch 28 and set the picture size to zoom 1. And, at least I'd have the weather for my "local on the 8's"
Does anyone know if the movies shown on IFC HD are in HD ? The program guide info does not indicate if it's in HD. I'm not about to pay for the channel only to have it not in HD.
When the Weather Channel HD
When the Weather Channel HD started, they did do a full 16x9 Presentation. It was nice to see everything 16x9. The only problem was that a lot of the time, they'd catch parts of adjacent maps on their display wall. If I remember right, they didn't add the sidebar until around the time NBCU purchased them. My guess is they added it to provide some local forecasts since most systems don't have the HD Weatherstar (Local on the 8's) yet. So hopefully maybe the sidebar will go away someday.
I find that side bar
I find that side bar distracting and irritating. I've just been going to TWC Ch 28, clicking zoom 1, and watching it there, plus getting the local on the 8's. I won't watch 1370. The only times there are full screen HD pictures are shortly before, during, and after commercials. It sucks !

Game HD and Team HD are on stations 740 and 760 but you have to be subscribed to one of those sports packages. As for the next ones coming next week or the week after, those will be:

Until after december? Thats funny because everyone I know that has TWC has been watching these new stations this week. They were watching the last group of stations 2 weeks before they were added to the lineup. So if it's on my TV and others, I would say this is a good confirmation that they will be on.

Anyway, I really wish there was a way to filter channels out of the guide that I do not have access to. It's a pain going through the guide constantly having to check each channel and think if I can watch it or not. Flipping through the channels from top to bottom is ridiculously slow and using the guide is the only way to jump to another channel in my opinion.
Running tests last night, one of my boxes literally took 10-15 seconds to load some of switched video channels. Has anybody else noticed a slowdown of load times since new channels were added? Also, I have yet been able to see every channel in the same half our period on one of my boxes. There is always a minimum of two channels giving the message "Not available, try later". Resetting the box worked for a bit, then some of them went to a black screen or the above message.
