In a recently released legal notice for programming changes, Time Warner Cable Wisconsin foreshadows a rather robust and interest crop of HD channels that may be in the pipeline.
On the legal notifications page on their website, a number of channels are mentioned that have been previously promised in official promotional literature, including ESPN U HD, Outdoor Channel HD, Fox Business HD, E! HD and others long hinted at like Game HD and Team HD.
What's more interesting is those channels newly mentioned in this notice:
- NBA HD
- NHL HD
- Style HD
- Weather Channel HD
- Planet Green HD
- WE HD
- MSNBC HD
- G4HD
- IFC HD
- TV One HD
- Fuse HD
- CBS C HD (presumably CBS College Sports HD?)
- Tennis HD
- QVC HD
- TMC HD
- Encore HD
- HBO2 HD
- HBO Family HD
- Sho2 HD
- Showtime HD On Demand
- More MAX HD
- Action Max HD
If these channels are indeed delivered, it would mark Time Warner's most aggressive HD channel addition in some time. The potential additions would bring their HD numbers very close to their satellite and telco competitors who had previously ramped up HD additions but have been largely dormant in recent months. There are many key additions including premium movie channel additions and several channels not offered on rival services.
Yet unknown is when these new channels could surface on local lineups.

Looks like a pretty robust
Looks like a pretty robust lineup, although I'm not sure how many will make it to the "free hd" lineup. Maybe 4 channels on this list would make it, the rest will probably require higher digital tiers.
If I was Time Warner, I would
If I was Time Warner, I would drop the "Home of Free HD" slogan and change it to something less confusing. Back when they didn't have that many HD channels and did let channels like Science HD slide for everyone, it was OK to call themselves that. But now that you only get the HDs you subscribe to, it should be something that suggests moreso that you get HD versions of channels you subscribe to at no extra cost. I think the "Home of Free HD" was a response to satellite and telcos charging HD technology fees to access HD channels at all.
Yet still no Viacom HD
Yet still no Viacom HD channels (Comedy Central). You'd think with all the nastiness Time Warner went through with Viacom, the HD channels would have been included in whatever agreement they figured out.
Man, I see about 4 or 5 ,that
