WBAY has reportedly spent a lot of money to simulcast ESPN's coverage of tonight's Packers game against the Vikings, but that's not the only thing they're spending big money on this week.
The station has been having transmitter issues for the past week that has caused it to broadcast digital signals at half-power, according to The Green Bay Press-Gazette. While the core area of its broadcast pattern hasn't been affected, the outlying areas have. They are working to get the full signal power restored in time for tonight's game.
The digital transmitter, which uses expensive tubes, is costing the station about $38,000 to repair.

Would that be the reason why
Would that be the reason why I kept getting pixelation and audio drop outs during the races the last two weeks? Did the issue start before last Sunday as well? Usually we get good reception but I recorded the race on Sunday and it was very glitchy.
From the article it sounds
From the article it sounds like its been happening just the past week or less. Are you with a cable or satellite service?
I have DirecTV but usually
I have DirecTV but usually record the OTA signal and not the channel provided by DirectTV on my HR20. I have not had the time yet to try to compare the channels to see if it is an OTA issue or an overall "supply side" issue.
It's just something I noticed while watching the race this weekend and then I saw the post about their transmitter issues. The funny thing is that my signal strengths still look good so I am wondering if I may have a hard drive starting to fail or something else.
