I think if WGBA tries a little harder I am sure they could just eliminate the center box with the annoying tv show we are trying to watch and then they could just run the school closings and advertisements on the whole screen. I mean after 6 hours we do need to see the same 10 closings every 3 mins.

Ha ha. I just sent an email
Ha ha. I just sent an email to nbc26 about this on friday night. I emailed you ask we investigate:
I have a serious issue that I would like an answer about.
I watch NBC26 in hd. Last night during the tv programs "Kath & Kim" and "The Office", my viewing experience was totally unwatchable due to NBC26's need to take up over 50% of the screen area with worthless garbage. See my attachment for a rough idea of what I am talking about.
First of all, when NBC26 adds their graphics, the program is no longer displayed in high definition, which causes the normally 16x9 program to be displayed in 4x3 mode, causing black bars to be displayed on both sides of the screen. Then to top it off, you feel the need to place huge blue graphics on 3 of the 4 sides of the screens, therefore shrinking the actual tv program even smaller.
During "The Office", I checked channels 2, 5 & 11, and none of those 3 channels did anything as asanine as what you guys are doing. Seriously, is it really necessary to take away that much of the screen? Those stupid blue graphics on the left and right of the screen do absolutely nothing. I understand that you need to inform people of closings, but cmon.
Channels 2, 5 & 11 maintain their hd broadcast even when they are displaying their graphics on the screen. Why can't NBC26? Now that more and more people are viewing in HD, I think something needs to be done about this.
