
In the midst of a cold, windy Sunday afternoon in Northeastern Wisconsin, WLUK's digital signal went out Sunday afternoon because of a faulty water pump used to cool the transmitter, according to the Green Bay Press-Gazette.
Define irony.
The pump took approximately 35 minutes to repair, according to the station. The failure affected cable and satellite customers as well, and AT&T U-Verse customers saw their HD signal substituted out for the SD feed. Pay TV providers take WLUK's digital signal over-the-air, so digital transmitter failures affect customers of those services as well as those using antennas.
