Time Warner Cable adding USA, Travel, and Sci-Fi to HD lineup December 4th

Talk about a Time Warner newsday.
According to a press release issued this afternoon by Time Warner's Northeast Wisconsin division, high-definition versions of USA, The Travel Channel and Sci-Fi will join the cable franchise's "free HD" lineup December 4th. The channels will be available to customers "with a minimum of standard service and an HD digital converter."
The new channel assignments will be USA HD on channel 725, Travel Channel HD on channel 737, and Sci-Fi HD on channel 758.
Time Warner is also going to offer separate HD channels for Golf and Versus starting Monday, December 8th. The combined version of both channels had been previously available on channel 714, and that channel will house the dedicated HD version of The Golf Channel as of Monday. Versus HD will take over channel 768.
"These additions bring the number of HD channels added by Time Warner Cable in 2008 to more than 20," the press release adds.
So what of the other channels we speculated were next on the addition list? Time Warner Cable Wisconsin President Jack Herbert says they "promise even more additions before the end of the year.” Plans are reportedly in place to add additional channels to the HD tier by the end of December. The release claims those would bring Time Warner's HD roster "to a total of 50 channels" by year's end.

Comcast owns E! and will be launching E! HD, Style HD, Golf HD, Versus HD and G4 HD on Monday. May only be on Comcast cable systems to start out though.

See ya! Have fun calling in
See ya! Have fun calling in if you ever need assistance!
Yeah, I tried calling in to
Yeah, I tried calling in to TWC many times because of random missing channels, broken DVR, and internet outages... ever time I ended up waiting over an hour on the phone... just for someone to pick up. The broken DVR problem was even worse, it took a total of 4 hours of waiting on the phone for someone to pick up. I called over the course of two days during normal business hours and no one picked up. When I finally did get to talk to someone it took them 45 minutes to tell me that I needed to bring it in to swap (I already tried all of the reboot procedures on my own but they still treated me like I was a moron). For all that trouble they should have brought me a new DVR, but that would have taken another 4-5 business days... yeah, for them to stop by and spend 3 seconds to give me a new box. I've had nothing but bad service with TWC.
I've called AT&T many times for wireless service like porting numbers and activation. I've never once had any problems and I've always talked to a human being unlike TWC's robot phone system.
You can try to scare people about AT&T and some people will listen but not everyone is a mindless sheep. Sooner or later they will wake up.

I just wish they would get
I just wish they would get moving on building out infrastructure. They aren't available where I live, or where I'm considering moving to.
Sorry to hear about your
Sorry to hear about your issues and having to hold for assistance but then again if your DVR was 'broke' instead of calling why would you just not go in to swap it? As far as the hold times I would have to say you can think the people who clog the lines for a simple pro rated bill education, or a remote programming, or better yet porn disputes... these are the people who make legit customers wait so long! Does not matter which company you call now a days where you do not sit on hold... I called Sirius on Saturday and waited for 30+ mins for a simple package downgrade!
Not everyone lives next door
Not everyone lives next door to or within reasonable distance to a TW office. Plus, I didn't know it was broken... I thought maybe they knew something I didn't.
The point was that it shouldn't have taken that long to call in.
P.S. I just recently called AT&T U-Verse support and it took a total of 3 minutes... and they helped me.

Sorry but I haven't had to
Sorry but I haven't had to call AT&T once since I had my service. It has been going on 4 months or so now. With TWC at the end I was calling every other day due to internet or tv.
I would like to see these
I would like to see these channels in HD: Comedy Central, Bravo, VH1, E! and maybe FX and Tru.
I don't think Viacom has
I don't think Viacom has launched Comedy Central in HD, though I have seen a logo released for it. Don't think Tru has either. The rest have. We should see Bravo and FX yet this month, I suspect.
I am already missing MOJO
