Decided to make the switch to U-verse. Just got installed on Saturday 8/16. I was looking forward to watching Brewers games in HD on FSN HD (Ch 1744), but have run into some problems. FSN HD showed "offair" all weekend because the Brewers series with LA was not available in HD, so I watched it on the SD FSN WI channel 744. Monday nights game vs Houston was the first thing to show up in the guide under FSN HD, but when it came to game time nothing would come in on CH 1744 (it would just freeze on the last frame from the last channel I was watching). I called tech support and they gave me some story about a know issue that Fox Sports Net was not providing AT&T with all the HD feeds, that's why nothing was showing up on 1744.
The other thing that makes no sense is the Tuesday, Friday, & Sunday games are suppose to be on FSN HD according to the Brewers website, but U-verse is only showing these games on the SD FSN WI channel 744.
Anyone else seeing these issues?

I had the same issue with
I had the same issue with FSN-WI HD tonight. I wanted to watch at least some of the Brewers, but all I got was the last frame of the previous channel I was watching when I tuned to FSN-WI HD. I'm glad to see it wasn't just me, so maybe I'll have to call in and see if I can get anything from the CSR. On a side note, at least once I've seen the Guide for FSN-HD show them as Off-Air, but I catch a glance of a game in the PIP window, and low and behold, there's a game on. It may have just been a fluke, but its something.
Are you paying the extra
Are you paying the extra $10.00 for HD?
Thanks for the responses.
Thanks for the responses. Yes I'm paying the $10 for HD. All my other HD channels are working ok.
So at least I'm not the only one with the problem on FSN WI-HD last night. I guess I'll just have to keep checking FSN- WI HD during Brewers games to see if I'm getting the HD feed. But if it turns out that the game is only on the SD FSN-WI channel and not on the FSN-WI HD channel when it is a recorded HD game I find that strange.
I've been having the same
I've been having the same problem. In almost 3 weeks of having U-verse, I have seen one Brewers game in HD. Otherwise, 1744 is "Off-Air." I did see the game scheduled on TBSHD, but when I went there, it was blacked out.
I just got off the phone with support, and they said it has to do with licensing and contracts. "Just because it is being broadcast in HD, doesn't mean we can show it."
My main reason for getting the HD package was to have FSN in HD. This is disappointing for me and I hope whoever is gumming up the works here can get over themselves and give me some HD!
Maybe it is Time Warner
Maybe it is Time Warner Cable scrambling the signal since they are the main sponsor of Brewers HD games?
How's that for a conspiracy theory?
I too noticed that brewers
I too noticed that brewers games in HD were not being shown on Uverse and after a couple of times I called ATT, first they did'nt know why, then said it was FSN's fault and there was nothing they could do about it. Also ATT's HD is not as good as TWC. If they cannot show all HD games then they should tell everyone instead of letting everyone wonder whats going on.
I'm scheduled to get U200 -
I'm scheduled to get U200 - HD near end of August and while I am a little put off by issue of not being able to see Brewer games in HD from U-Verse (as mentioned above), I do wish to be clear that FSN-Wisconsin (the SD channel) is available on the U200 Channel line up? I see FSN-North as channel 744, but seeing that is only confusing me. Could someone please respond and clarify this for me. Can I for sure get Brewer Games in SD on U-Verse, U200?
Btw, let's start a rally now to make sure the HD thing isn't an issue for 2009.
Yes you will be able to see
Yes you will be able to see Brewers games in SD on FSN WI channel 744 w/ U200, I can vouch for that.
But we all want them in HD...come on U-verse, what's the big deal? Why show one once in a while, but not all?
Thanks for that info,
Thanks for that info, JZaction. Much appreciated.
I'm guessing when the world (er...U.S.) moves to digital TV in 2009, there will be heavy competition to be the programming service who carries the most HD sporting events.
Something tells me this is partly (to mostly) an issue with FSN (parent company).
Just to let you know, the
Just to let you know, the game for tomorrow night (Wednesday, August 27) WILL be carried in HD. Everyone have a party because you never know when the next one will be on!
Friday nights game (Aug 29)
Friday nights game (Aug 29) in on FSN-WI HD as well...2 in one week, am I dreaming?
It seems like all Fox Sports
It seems like all Fox Sports Network affiliates are well behind their Comcast Sports Network counterparts as far as HD goes. It will never happen, but I'd love to get Comcast Sports' Chicago Network here (well, you can get it with satellite, but due to league blackout restrictions almost all of the stuff that makes it worth having is blacked out because if you're "out of the area" the leagues want you to buy their premium packages). Comcast Sports Chicago shows a whole hell of a lot of Bulls, Black Hawk, White Sox, and Cubs' games and all are in HD and if you're a Comcast Cable subscriber in the Chicago area they even have the HD replays as part on their Video On Demand service.
Again on Sunday (August 31)!
Again on Sunday (August 31)! Maybe my phone call to ATT actually did something...
:D
I have been meaning to
I have been meaning to return to this thread and make note that in the 2 weeks I have had U-verse, I have seen at least 4 and as many as 7 Brewer games on FSN-HD (ch. 1744). I would say I am pleased as punch as result of this.
My only gripe is that I notice it seems not all that much better than the 744 channel and in last night's telecast the volume was noticeably louder on 744 than 1744. That could be something having to do only with my system (TV), but I double checked connections and didn't find anything. I'm also saying that the quality on my 1080i picture (through 1744) is only slightly better than what I get through 744. Like on scale of 1 to 10, 744 is a 7.5 and 1744 is a 9 for me. I'm also going to say that I think Time Warner's FSN-HD would've got a 9.5 (or better) routinely from me.
I was over at my parents'
I was over at my parents' place last night and noticed that it said "Off Air" but the game was on. Weird.
Something weirder for you
Something weirder for you Mark. I watched part of the Game last night on FSN-HD on U-Verse. I wonder what's up with that.
Can you get all brewer games
Can you get all brewer games in SD on U/100??
Yes, whatever games are on
Yes, whatever games are on FSN, you will get. FSN does not broadcast all games.
I'm switching next week from
I'm switching next week from DISH, which gave me FSN North-MN w/ Twins/T-Wolves/Gophers/Wild non-game programming. BUT, all of those actual games were blacked out, and I got Brewers/Bucks game-only content on alternate channels - but no winter warm up of str8 up etc. Is U-verse like this too, or is one of the two FSN North channels listed in the U-verse packages the full-time WI version of the channel? Anyone know for sure?
U-verse has the full FSN
U-verse has the full FSN Wisconsin feed, not the FSN North out of the Twin Cities feed.
