The $50 incentive that LIN/WLUK and DISH Network announced today around the Charter spat will come as a prepaid MasterCard, which comes 4 to 6 weeks after signing up for DISH.

Your activation fee for DISH is $49.99 though, so you end up making a penny on the deal, I guess.

That's not correct. As one of NE Wisconsin longest running Dish Network retailers, I'm here to tell you that the $49.99 activation fee has been waived for quite a few months now. And in fact, if you sign up now for a 2 year contract, you will receive 3 months of FREE programing. Check site for details...

I took that from the legal

I took that from the legal script contained in DISH Network's own ads that started running today in support of the $50 incentive.

Is DISH incorrect in stating that in their own advertising?

Well I switched from TWC to

Well I switched from TWC to DirecTV AFTER WLUK went HD with DISH. Thats how interested I am with DISH. Their "partnership" with WLUK reminds me of the good decision I have made.

Anyone notice the "fair and balanced" morning show on WLUK that states that even though you lose WLUK through Charter you will be able to get it with Satellite programs such as DISH?

Not sure about anyone else but "FAIR AND BALANCED" would have been: Even though you lose WLUK through Charter you will be able to get it with providers such as TWC, DirecTV and DISH. And you can even recieve our signal FREE with an Antenna.

Isnt it funny how their partnership with SUESS andpromoting FREE WLUK HD with an antenna has disappered and is replaced with scrolling text on almost every show throughout the day and commercials about losing signal with charter but you can sign up for DISH and get $50 back? Last I checked DISH wasnt free.

Oh wait you mean WLUK doesnt get kick back with an antenna? You mean they ARE NOT looking out for the best interests of their customers? Im confused...

WLUK what happened to looking out for your customers and promoting the ability to get your signal for free over the air? Isnt that one of your arguments with not going into agreement with TWC?

PROPAGANDA. I am disgusted with WLUK and their approach to this. As far as I am concerned DISH is not being any better. WLUK do you feel good about being fair and balanced as long as it benefits you?

The more I think of it, if I was not so into research about HD and such I may not of been quick enough to notice WLUK's approach to this, how many people out their are being suckered into this and how much programming on WLUK am I being suckered into just because I may not be as knowledgeable in other subjects?

Am I wrong or am I over thinking this? It seems pretty cut an dry to me.. Does Jay Z over at WLUK need an email or will it really do any good?

Why would anyone start up

Why would anyone start up with Dish when they don't have HD locals! The announcement that Fox 11 will be on Directv in HD soon is via satellite. The dish solution is an antenna for local HD. How can Dish say they have HD locals when they have to install a 30 year old technology on your roof. Switch to Directv, it's a bettter option and a year or more ahead of what Dish has.

DISH Network has HD locals.  They've had them since April 16th.

I notice now that DirecTV

I notice now that DirecTV has signed the deal WLUK on their news program is stating you can get it through DISH, DirectTV, and free over antenna. But still no mention that you can still get their station in SD on TWC.

Although the DirecTV agreement benefits me, not mentioning TWC again is still "BARELY BALANCED"

It's a very convenient

It's a very convenient omission to bolster their negotiating position, indeed. Either that or a veiled threat to cable companies altogether.

Yet, they still take Time Warner's advertising money.

Some days, I just don't get it.

TvBoy: Damn, For as long as it took to get that thing launched, I was pretty disappointed. Not that impressive. Better than the last set, but not worth the price paid.
