This could turn out to be
This could turn out to be quite the story and terrible, terrible timing for TWC.
If this is true, nearly 10 bucks more per month for the Digital Basic and Standard is crazy and not justifiable in my eyes. “Home of the free HD” just turned into “home of the our HD prices are included in all packages even if you don’t have an HDTV, and also, we don’t have all the locals anymore, even though that’s not completely our fault, hey we gave out free rabbit ears, those are worth 10 bucks a month right?”

Mark, I e-mailed you a copy of the Timewarner booklet I received in Saturday's mail.
What about the combined
What about the combined packages? TV and Internet, TV, internet and phone? I've got the Watch and Surf package at 86.04 plus DVR for another 8.50 giving me a total of about $102 a month. And I agree, horrible timing, if I see a significant rise in prices I'm gone to DirectTV.
You have all seen my
You have all seen my comments about cable and why I went back to OTA.
What you may not know is that I still have cable internet. When I dropped cable, my cable provider got me back by giving me 5 meg internet for $15/mo. With internet getting more reasonably priced, my provider called me last weekend and locked me in with a 2 year agreement. I paid $15/mo for the last 16 months. Now, instead of being raised to the regular quoted prices for internet, I am locked for 2 years at $34/mo for 10 meg service.
Cable internet is still a good deal. Cable TV has been outrageous for several years, and is getting worse and worse.
Most of you can get your local network affiliates for free with a small investment in an antenna and related equipment. If you have HD capable TVs and are looking for more, I would strongly look into Dish Network. They offer 4 packages of nothing but major cable channels in HD. Their top package is nearly 50 channels of HD for under $40.
Just my thoughts.

I also have the
I also have the 'watch-n-surf' package. I contacted them yesterday and was told any existing 'promotions' are valid until their term expires.
I pay $113/month with 2 premiums (Digital Standard). If this conflict with FOX isn't resolved, I'm probably going to switch my cable to DirectTV and just have Internet only service with Timewarner.

Giving you less and charging
Giving you less and charging you more. What kind of a business model is that? Just because a customer is loyal does not mean they are zombies. Wow, they need to get their act together. Sooner or later people are going to explore their options.
TWC rate increase guarantees
TWC rate increase guarantees one thing... This TWC customer will switch to UVerse as soon as it comes to my area.
Can't get satellite due to neighboring trees. Detest the network TV programming. Investing in an OTA antenna not worth it considering the programming quality.
