My parents were one of the early adopters to AT&T U-Verse when it first rolled out last summer and enjoy the service, but their bill went up and they've been seeing irregular charges recurring so they're looking to switch back to Time Warner Cable as soon as they can.
They're looking to me to help them through the process, and this is the first instance I've dealt with as far as switching back from U-Verse to cable.
Has anyone else had experience switching to cable from U-Verse? What's the best way to go about it? Namely, who do you schedule to come in first -- cable to do the install or U-Verse to disconnect? They'd be doing cable, phone and Internet. Does it make a difference who does what when?

I'd say get TWC set up first
I'd say get TWC set up first which should disconnect anything the prem tech's did to set up u-verse. Then cancel, and you'll get a e-mail with instructions on how to send back the equipment. Logically, that makes sense.
Jon, Does a tech come to
Jon,
Does a tech come to collect the equipment, can you take it somewhere or do you have to send it back?
Last time I checked, the
Last time I checked, the equipment goes to a UPS Store with the e-mail you will get when you cancel. There is no cost to the end user as AT&T picks up the bill for the shipping.
