Yesterday, Microsoft rolled out their new "Xbox Experience" interface for the Xbox 360. That's all well and good, but all I wanted of it was the Netflix streaming.

After WBAY and WFRV revealed they may seek WLUK-like retransmission windfalls, it's time to think of the locals like HBO -- as premium channels. "It's not TV. It's FOX 11."

While other Green Bay broadcasters have appeared content with the status quo, WLUK has made no bones about its quest for more money. Now poised to get it, this is no time to get complacent.

My grand experiment to shed "pay TV" from my home has been a crazy roller coaster, even after a mere two weeks. For this lifelong cable customer, free TV is a cruel mistress.

Though I've never condoned LIN Television's strongarm tactics against cable companies, Time Warner Cable has precious little alternative to bowing to their demands this time around.

After fleeing a huge Time Warner rate hike and sulking after an aborted U-Verse installation, I find myself -- a life-long cable viewer -- an antenna-man for the very first time.
